AUTOMATIC VACUUM REGULATOR

•AVR IS DESIGNED TO CLOSE AT PRESSURE AND OPEN AT VACUUM (NORMALLY). SO WITHOUT VACUUM IT SHOULD NOT ALLOW CHLORINE GAS TO INJECTOR OF THE CHLORINATOR.

•THE CHLORINE TONER PRESSURE GUAGE TO BE PROVIDED BEFORE THE AVR.

DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE REGULATOR

•FUNCTION IS TO REGULATE THE PRESSURE DROP CREATED DUE TO THE DIFFERENTIAL ACROSS THE ORIFICE OF THE FLOW CONTROL VALVE. DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE REGULATOR IS PROVIDED TO GET STABLE READING ACROSS THE ROTAMETER AND ALSO TO REGULATE TURBULENT ACTION OF VACUUM TO MANAGEABLE LEVEL.

•THE OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTION OF THIS REGULATOR IS TO REDUCE THE HIGHLY TURBULENT ACTION OF THE INJECTOR VACUUM TO A STEADY MANAGEABLE VACUUM SOMEWHAT LESS THAN 625mm OF Hg.

FLOWMETER / ROTAMETER

•MADE  OF BOROSILICATE GLASS WITH TAPERED INTERNAL DIAMETER AND WITH PVC FITTINGS AND TEFLON FLOAT.

CHECK VALVE

   TO PROVIDE THE SINGLE WAY FLOW, SO WATER WILL NOT ENTER IN THE GAS SIDE.

INJECTOR (EJECTOR)

•FUNCTION IS TO CREATE VACUUM TO SUCK THE CHLORINE GAS AND MIXES THE WATER AND GAS THOROUGHLY FORCEFUL CONTACT OF CHLORINE GAS WITH WATER AT HIGH PRESSURE ENABLES COMPLETE MIXTURE AND REDUCES THE RETENTION TIME.

•INJECTOR IS DESIGNED BASED ON FLOWRATE / QUANITY OF CHLORINE GAS / BACK – PRESSURE IN THE CHLORINE SOLUTION DISTRIBUTION LINE. SUFFICIENT VACUUM (150-500 mm OF Hg) IS NECESSARY AND MANDATORY FOR TROUBLE FREE OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM

PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE

•PRV IS SPRING LOADED DIAPHRAGM-ACTUATED VALVE. NORMAL SET PRESSURE OF A PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE IS 1-2 Ksc FOR AN UPSTREAM PRESSURE OF 9-13 Ksc DEPENDING ON AMBIENT TEMPERATURE.

•THE DOWNSTREAM PRESSURE CAN BE VARIED BETWEEN 0.75 TO 3 Ksc.

CHLORINE GAS FILTER

•THE PRINCIPAL IMPURITY IS FERRIC CHLORIDE. THIS IS INHERENT IN CHLORINE GAS BECAUSE IT IS PACKAGED IN STEEL CONTAINERS

FUNCTION

  THIS FILTER HAS TWO CHAMBERS. THE LOWER PORTION ACTS AS A TRAP FOR LIQUID IMPURITIES AND THE SUDDEN ENLARGEMENT DECREASES THE VELOCITY SO THAT GAS IS UNABLE TO CARRY ENTRAINED DROPLETS OF LIWUID CHLORINE, WHICH IS HIGH IN FERRIC CHLORIDE. THE UPPER PORTION HAS A REMOVABLE FILTER ELEMENT. THE FILTER ELEMENT IS ESPECIALLY IMPREGNATED SO THAT FERRIC CHLORIDE “PLATE OUT” RAPIDLY AS IT PASSES THROUGH THE ELEMENT. THEREFORE THE FILTER ACTS AS BOTH A FILTER AND A CONDENSTATE TRAP.
